Karma can look very appealing to many people. Even as a Christian some things make sense... and some not so much. If everything that happens in our lives is a direct result of our actions and decisions then what did the children that are being beaten and abused everyday do to deserve that? What kind of decision would ever be "fair" that resulted in being abused? especially for a child. Now I get what he is saying that things do happen for a reason, but it's God's reason and His alone. God has a plan for each and every one of us, but it is up to us to decide whether or not to follow that path. Another point was one of his "guidelines" i guess you could call them, the third one, heart. If we listened to our hearts for ever single decision we made every day this world would be a wreck. We have to take into account what our minds say, and most importantly what God tells us to do. Even though it may not "feel" right it is in our best interest, and if we just when off of the whim of our hearts and not God then we would get into some deep trouble. Our hearts must only be a PART of the decisions we make from day to day. Karma may make some good points but in the end God has all the answers and points you will ever need!
